PROFILE OF ARCHBISHOP CHARLES AGYINASARE
Archbishop Charles Agyinasare (MTh, ThD, PhD) is a respected member of the clergy, author, statesman and an academic. He is the President of the Agyinasare World Evangelism, a ministry that takes the gospel all around the world. He is also the founder of Perez Chapel International and the archbishop of the Global Charismatic Ministers’ Network, an international organization that provides mentorship, networking, and ordination for Christian ministers.
After a life of sin, young Charles gave his life to Christ, got delivered from the power of sin, and has since then had a very strong passion to see souls saved and delivered from the power of Satan. Following his call into Christian Ministry in 1983, he was ordained by Rev. Emmanuel Enoch Agbozo, founder of Ghana Evangelical Society (GES) in 1984. He later attended the late Archbishop Idahosa’s All Nations for Christ Bible Institute, in Benin City, Nigeria in 1986. He is also an alumnus of the Haggai Institute of Advanced Leadership, Hawaii, USA, and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, Accra, Ghana. In his over three decades of Christian ministry, Agyinasare has ministered the gospel in all the continents of the world in over 92 countries.
Archbishop Agyinasare is currently the Prelate of the Perez Dome, one of the largest church auditoria in Africa. He is also the President of the Global Charismatic Ministers’ Network.
Dr Agyinasare obtained doctoral degrees in Christian Apologetics and Practical Theology from the Northwestern Christian University, and Christian Life Theological Seminary, both in the USA.
Agyinasare is the Chancellor of the Perez University College, a Christian entrepreneurial University that engages Christian values in contemporary academic milieu for transformation. He has published many books on practical Christianity, Family Life and Marriage, Christian Spirituality, Christianity and Patriotism, and Christian Ministry. His book Good Manners and Etiquette for Everyday Use was approved by the Ghana Education Service for teaching in Senior High Schools, Training Colleges, and Pre-university Colleges in Ghana. He is also the President of the Agyinasare Foundation that has been offering scholarships to 100 needy but brilliant students each year since 2015.
His life and ministry have generated a lot of scholarly interest and his works have been cited and used on several occasions as case studies in academic discourses. He is recognized by scholars such as Paul Gifford and Bergit Meyer as one of the founders of the Charismatic churches that began in the early 1980s in Ghana.
Prof. J. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, President of the Trinity Theological Seminary used his ministry as a case study during his inaugural lecture at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS) on March 31, 2016, themed: “Channels of Prayer, Prophecy and Power: Contemporary Religion, New Media and Transformation of the Public Sphere in Africa.”
He has served as a member of the Governing Councils of Central University, and the All Nations University in Ghana.
In 2007, then President of Ghana, H.E. John Agyekum Kufuor awarded him the Member of the Order of the Volta for his outstanding achievements in championing African excellence as a religious leader and a philanthropist. A survey in 2016 by the Ghana Crusader indicated that Agyinasare is the 20th most influential Ghanaian amongst the 100 most influential Ghanaians. He is one of the most sought for Charismatic clergy for revival programs, crusades, and leadership training. Agyinasare is licensed to ordain those called into the ministry.
Charles Agyinasare lives in Accra with his wife Rev. Mrs Vivian Sena Agyinasare. They have three biological children, an adopted daughter, and five grandchildren: Bishop Dr Selaise, Apostle Francis, Mrs Charlene, Mrs Clementina Tetteh; and Carly, Keziah, Charles Jr, Charles Yewuraekow and Vivian Jr.
